No Longer In The Pit They Left You.

No Longer In The Pit They Left You.

Shalom dear brethren, today I want us to look at the miraculous deliverance of Joseph from the pit.

In Genesis chapter 37, we read the story of Joseph, the Favoured son of Jacob. His own brothers plotted to get rid of him. They threw him into a pit, intending to leave him there to die.

Little did they know, God had a different plan.

"And Reuben returned unto the pit; and, behold, Joseph was not in the pit; and he rent his clothes." (Genesis 37:29)

What a surprise to Reuben?

From this account, we learn the following.

1. Your enemies may try to trap you, but God will deliver you.

- Joseph's brothers thought they had gotten rid of him by throwing him into the pit.

- But God had other plans. He allowed Joseph to be sold into slavery, but ultimately used that to position Joseph for greatness.

- No matter what pit you find yourself in - whether it's a physical, emotional, or spiritual pit - God will deliver you from that  pit. Believe it.

2. Your deliverance may come when your enemies least expect it.

- Reuben returned to the pit, expecting to find Joseph still there. But to his surprise, Joseph was gone!

- God's timing is perfect. He will deliver you when it is least expected, catching your enemies off guard.

- Your breakthrough may come just when you think all hope is lost. Keep trusting in God's plan.

3. Your deliverance will leave your enemies in shock and dismay.

- Reuben's reaction - "he rent his clothes" - shows his distress and dismay at finding Joseph missing.

- When God delivers you, it will leave your enemies confused and shaken. They will be forced to acknowledge the power of God at work in your life.

Today, if you find yourself in a pit, take courage. Your God is a deliverer. He will dramatically rescue you in His perfect timing.

Your enemies may scheme against you, but they will be shocked to find you missing from the pit they left you.
