TAKE TIME TO ROAST WHAT YOU HUNT.
Proverbs 12:27 KJV
“The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.”
Imagine spending hours hunting, finally catching something valuable, bringing it home—and then failing to prepare it for food!
That is the picture Solomon gives us of a slothful person.
The problem is not that he had no opportunity.
The problem is not that he had nothing.
He had something in his hands, but he failed to make use of it.
Sadly, this happens in our lives too.
Some people have good ideas but never implement them.
Some acquire education but never apply it.
Some receive great opportunities but fail to pursue them.
Some have talents but never develop them.
Some start businesses, projects or ministries but abandon them halfway.
It is possible to work hard to acquire something and then become too lazy or careless to benefit from it.
Opportunity must be followed by diligence.
Don't just pray for opportunities—prepare to use them.
Don't just acquire knowledge—apply it.
Don't just receive resources—steward them.
Don't just start—finish.
Don't just catch the “fish”—clean it, cook it and enjoy it!
The difference between having something and benefiting from it is often diligent stewardship.
What has God already placed in your hands?
Whatever it is, don't waste it.
Diligence turns opportunities into results!
