Lessons From The Prodigal Son

LESSONS FROM THE PRODIGAL SON.

The Parable of the Prodigal Son is a timeless story, full of wisdom that is applicable in our lives today.

One of the major lesson to learn from this parable is the power of Humility and Self-Reflection.

Luke 15:17 KJV
And when he came to himself,
he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

The Prodigal Son's journey began with a desire for independence. A desire to be fully in-charge of his decisions, pursuits and destiny.

Unfortunately, this led him down a path of self destruction.

Humility made a way for him to return.

He recognized his mistakes, and the need to go back with humility and ask for forgiveness from his father after going through a thorough Self-Assessment.

We can apply this wisdom in our lives today by taking time for Self-Examination.

It's not about dwelling on the negative, no, no, no:
It's about carrying out a honest Self-Appraisal.

Creating time for a honest Self-Assessment.

A thorough Self Appraisal will always expose:

•Something to improve,
•Something to adjust,
•Something exchange,
•Something to cut off,
•Something to add.
•Something to flee from etc.

Every "Son" has a "Little Prodigal Son", sitting in his inside.

Insight From The Prodigal Son

The Prodigal Son Within.

My beloved brethren, today, I want to highlight one insight from my book, "The Prodigal Son".

There is a hidden Prodigal Son living inside each of us.

Deep within each of us, there exists a spirit of rebellion, a yearning for independence, and a desire to discover something new.

This restless spirit, much like the Prodigal Son in the Bible, can sometimes lead us astray from the safety and purpose that God has graciously ordained for us.

Just as the Prodigable Son found himself in a state of
•Scarcity
•Despair, and
•Far from the comfort of his father's house,
we too can find ourselves disconnected from our true selves and our greater purpose.

Such are the moments we need to engage in Self Reflection. Self Appraisal. Self Assessment.

Remember, nobody else who can do an appraisal on you better than yourself.

This is what the Prodigal Son did in Luke 15:17 NIV,

When he came to his senses, he said,
"How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!..."

In his darkest hour, he appraised himself, and discovered an opportunity for renewal. An opportunity to return home. An opening for restoration.

Let us recognise the "Prodigal Son" within.

Let us acknowledge the restless spirit that lives inside each of us.

In doing so, we will easily discover where we have made mistakes: and thereafter discover our way "back home."

When we "come to our senses", we can easily reclaim our purpose, our joy, and our bountiful blessings, that have always been there for us, all along.
