Dangers of Doing Drugs.

My dear brethren, I come to you today with a heavy heart and heavy message on the dangers of drugs in our society.

One of our religious leaders has warned against drugs, saying:

"Doing drugs can thrill you for a season, then turn you to a cabbage and finally turn you to a garbage." 

These words speak a very important truth.

Drugs may offer a fleeting high, a momentary escape from the challenges of life.

But this thrilling sensation is a trap, luring us into a downward spiral of destruction.

Drugs do not simply numb our senses for a time.

No, no, no,... they corrupt our most precious Treasure - The Mind. 

The mind is the faculty that allows us to reason, to make sound decisions, and to connect with God.

Drugs corrupt that faculty, turning it into a state of fog and confusion. 

Our mental faculties are diminished, our ability to think impaired, and we become like cabbages.

As the drugs take a deeper hold on us, they will ultimately reduce us to mere "garbage".

Our potentials are squandered, and we become worthless. 

The allure of drugs promises excitement and escape: but delivers ruin and despair.

Drugs do not only corrupt our minds, they open doors to a myriad of other vices - immorality, violence, theft etc.

Slowly but surely, drugs will erode our values, our sense of purpose, and our very own destiny.

I implore everybody, and especially our youth, to stay far away from any association or activity that may lead to any form of "Doing Drugs".

The price of succumbing to drugs is far too high to bear. 

Many promising young people have been turned into cabbages.

Others have been turned into stinking "garbage".

Many families are affected either directly or indirectly.

Almost everyone in our streets knows a close victim of alcohol, bhang, shisha, miraa etc.

We will not lose hope !!!

No, no, no, no, no.......

We will keep investing our time, our skills and our resources in fighting drug trafficking in our society. 

We will love our youth, educate them, and invest in them.

We will keep believing God for divine intervention.

Drug trafficking will one day come to an end in this Nation.

The menace of drugs will one day be history in our society.

Remain vigilant.

Remain somber.
