The Past is Good For History

The Past is Good For History. 

Beloved brethren, today, I want us to reflect and unpack the wise saying:

"The past is good for history, but not for a change of story".

We all walk our own unique paths, intricately woven with past experiences, challenges, and triumphs. 

Our past is rich with lessons that adds depth to our lives. However, if we are to seek transformation and growth, we must turn our gaze toward the future. 

The past is a guide, not a dwelling place.

Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13 KJV, states, 

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before." 

Paul teaches us that while the past holds valuable lessons, true progress requires us to focus on what lies ahead.

Consider the analogy of a vehicle: the side mirrors provides us with glimpses of where we have been, but the front windscreen directs us toward where we are going. 

If we fix our eyes too much on the side mirrors, we risk missing the opportunities and possibilities on the road ahead. We can easily even cause risky accidents unawares. 

To change our story, we must embrace the future with hope and determination. 

We must look to the possibilities God lays before us, dream of brighter days, and work tirelessly to bring those dreams to fulfilment. 

Each new dawn brings fresh mercies and the promise of growth.

Embrace your aspirations and visions with faith and resilience. 

Understand that, while the past has shaped you, it is the choices and actions you take now that will craft your future. 

With the help of God and your efforts, you can write a new chapter full of purpose and fulfillment.

May we all find the courage to release the burdens of the past, take the lessons learned, and step boldly into the future with faith in the faithfulness of God.
