Thieves Who Pretend To Be Hunters

Thieves Disguised As Hunters.

Today, I desire to unpack the wisdom of an African proverb that speaks to the importance of integrity and honesty.

The proverb states,

"A hunter that comes back home with a cow is a thief."

This proverb suggests that a hunter who returns home with a cow has obtained it through dishonest means.

Cows, are not found in the jungle, where hunters search for their catch.

If a hunter bring back a cow, it is clear that he did not acquire it through legitimate hunting, but rather by stealing it from someone or somewhere.

This African proverb resonates very well with the teachings of the Bible.

In Exodus 20:15, we read,

"Thou shalt not steal."

Proverbs 10:9 states,

"He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known."

The hunter who steals the cow is perverting his ways and will ultimately be known for his dishonest actions.

The proverb is challenging us to reflect on our own lives and the way we conduct ourselves in our daily activities.

Let us heed the wisdom of this African proverb.

Let us walk in truth and integrity.

Let us be people who seek to obtain  things:
• The right way,
• The honest way and
• By ethical means.

“A Hunter That Comes Back Home With A Cow is A Thief."

Avoid the temptation to be such a hunter:

Avoid to be associated with such hunters.
