Speak Out Against Evil

When You See Evil: Don’t Keep Silent: Speak It Out.

Dear brethren, too often, we find ourselves turning a blind eye to the evils that plague our society.

A wise philosopher once said, 

"What scares me most is not the screams of the bad guys, but the silence of the good guys." 

How true are these words in our generation today?

When we fail to speak out against evil in our society, we become complicit in its continuation. 

Prophet Ezekiel warned us, saying, 

"If I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die,' and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand." (Ezekiel 3:18)

Let us heed these words and stand firm against the forces of evil that seek to destroy our society. 

God has commanded, 

"You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbour, lest you incur sin because of him." (Leviticus 19:17)

Brothers and sisters, time for silence has passed. 

Let us raise our voices against  evil, so we can bring righteousness in our society. 

Prophet Amos declared, 

"But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream." (Amos 5:24)

May we be the instruments of that justice. May we be the vessels that bring righteousness.

Let us heed to the words of Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 5:11,

"Expose the unfruitful works of darkness." 

By doing so, the wicked will be rebuked and the good will be upheld. 

Pray for the courage to speak out against evil, the wisdom to do it wisely, and the passion to do it consistently. 

Only then can we truly fulfil our calling as the salt of the earth and the light of the world. (Matthew 5:13-14).
