Peace Makers

CERTIFIED PEACE MAKER (CPM):

Today we reflect on the profound wisdom found in Proverbs 16:7, where the scripture declares,

"When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him."

In these simple yet powerful words, we are given a foundation for living a life that is pleasing to God and brings about reconciliation, even with those who may be strongly against us.

The starting point for this transformative truth is found in the phrase,

"When a man's ways please the Lord."

This reminds us that the foundation of a life well-lived is not found in our own efforts or desires, but in aligning our ways with the will and ways of God.

When we seek to please the Lord with our thoughts, our words, and our actions, we open the door for Him to work in our lives in remarkable ways.

The scripture then goes on to declare that when our ways please the Lord,

"he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him."

This is a remarkable promise: It speaks to the power of God to overcome even the deepest divisions and hostilities.

No matter how challenging our circumstances may be, no matter how entrenched the animosity of our adversaries, when we walk in a manner that is pleasing to the Lord, He has the ability to soften hearts, to break down barriers, and to bring about reconciliation.

This is the wonder of the God we serve – a God who is not only mighty in power, but also gracious and merciful.

When we surrender our lives to Him and seek to honour Him in all that we do, He is able to work in ways that goes beyond our human understanding. He take the most difficult of situations and transform them into opportunities for peace, healing, and restoration.

Therefore, let us strive to live in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. Let us commit ourselves to walking in obedience to His Word, seeking to glorify Him in all that we do.

As we do so, God will work in our lives and in the lives of those around us, even our enemies, to bring about a unity and a peace that can only come from Him.

When we walk in a manner that honours God, He will make even our enemies to be at peace with us.

With this new light, let us go forth as ambassadors of peace.
As we keep pleasing God, peace will keep prevailing wherever we step in.

Pleasing God qualifies people to become: CERTIFIED PEACE MAKER (CPM).
