TOPIC – The Place Of Opportunities In Pursuit Of Success


What is Opportunity
- A discovered Avenue For Profiting
- It is Locating what will work and making it work
- It is taking advantage of situations around you to create increase

Opportunity is The mother of Fortune
Opportunity is missed by many because it comes dressed in overalls that look like work.
People who hate work will always miss opportunities.
People who like short cuts will always cut short their opportunities.
Proverbs 13:11 - Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
Opportunities And Education
There is no doubt that education increase opportunities for gainful engagements

However, your field of study or your level of education should not contain you in a box.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 - Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;
Proverbs 14:23In all labour there is profit:
Proverbs 13:4 - The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
Proverbs 13:7 - There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
·        Education is meant to broaden your understanding.
·        Education is a means to exercise your brain muscles.
A diligent Doctor can excel in Business. A diligent geologist can excel in management.

Examples: The late Pro. Wangari Mathai – A professor in veterinary medicine excelled in tree planting campaigns to a level of becoming the first African woman to receive a Nobel Prize.

How To Locate Opportunities
1.     By A Search
He that seeketh, findeth – Matthew 7:7

2.     Create Opportunities
It is saying “ If nobody hires me, I will hire myself”
- Esther Pasarris – Divorced by a rich man is excelling in lighting cities
- David Kuria – A jobless young man is excelling in providing toilet facilities in cities.
- Paul Kinuthia – A former hawker has made a name for himself in cosmetic manufacturing.

Advice
let no one continue walking in the streets complaining about being jobless. Let such persons Look around themselves and locate a need to be met and devise ways to meet that need.


3.     Catch Opportunities
Some Opportunities just present themselves and all you need to do is to catch them.

Caution:
Catch Opportunities on time because they are normally very slippery
