JESUS WAS IN THE BOAT, BUT THE STORM CAME.
One of the greatest misconceptions about the Christian life is the expectation of a Storm-Free Journey.
The disciples were not in that boat because they had disobeyed Jesus.
Jesus Himself instructed them to get into the boat and cross over.
Yet, as they travelled, a great storm arose.
Jesus was in their assignment—but the storm still came.
“And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.”
— Matthew 8:23–24 KJV
What a powerful lesson!
You can be in God's will and still encounter a storm.
You can be faithfully serving God and still face opposition.
You can be pursuing a God-given assignment and still encounter unexpected challenges.
You can have Jesus in your boat and still experience turbulent waters.
The presence of a storm does not necessarily mean that God has abandoned you.
Sometimes, the storm is simply part of the journey to your destination.
The disciples' security was not in the absence of wind or waves. Their security was in the fact that Jesus was in the boat!
Therefore, don't abandon your assignment because of a storm.
Don't abandon your faith because of a storm.
Don't conclude that God has forgotten you because the waters are rough.
Your greatest safety is not in having a storm-free life; it is in having Jesus in your life.
And when Jesus is in your boat, the storm may shake the boat, but it cannot destroy your destiny.
The storm may come, but Jesus is still in the boat!
Keep your faith. Keep rowing. Keep trusting. Your destination is still ahead!
