DESIRE THE HEART OF ELIJAH NOT JUST THE ANOINTING.
Many believers desire the double portion of Elijah's anointing, but few desire the double portion of his sacrifice, commitment, and labour.
Elijah did not become a mighty prophet overnight.
Before the fire fell on Mount Carmel, there were years of obedience, prayer, loneliness, persecution, and unwavering devotion to God.
The anointing upon his life was not a badge of prestige: it was a tool for service.
It was not given to make him famous, but to make him effective in advancing God's kingdom.
When Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah's spirit, he was not merely seeking power.
He was expressing a willingness to carry the burden, responsibility, and mission that came with that anointing.
He desired the heart of a servant before the mantle of a prophet.
Today, many want the platform but not the preparation, the glory but not the grind, the rewards but not the responsibility.
Yet God's power rests most effectively upon those whose hearts are fully surrendered to His purpose.
Before you pray for Elijah's anointing, pray for Elijah's passion for God.
Before you seek his mantle, seek his devotion.
Before you desire his power, desire his heart.
"And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me." - 2 Kings 2:9(KJV)
