BUILDING RESILIENCE IN MINISTRY:
Pastoral work is not easy.
Ministry is a calling filled with both joy and pressure.
Apostle Paul advised Timothy to endure hardness like a good soldier because the work of ministry demands spiritual strength, emotional stability, and unwavering commitment.
Building the capacity to endure is not optional for a Pastor. It is necessary and almost mandatory.
A Pastor must learn how to stand strong during seasons of misunderstanding, misrepresentation, criticism, rejection, and discouragement.
Personally, I truly enjoy pastoral work and serving God’s people.
Yet, there have been moments when the pressure of misunderstandings and false assumptions pushed me into very uncomfortable positions.
Ministry can sometimes wound the very people called to heal others.
But resilience is built when we refuse to quit, refuse bitterness, and continue serving faithfully despite the storms.
Every Pastor must understand this truth.
You cannot lead people effectively if you easily collapse under pressure.
Strength for ministry is developed through endurance.
2 Timothy 2:3 (KJV)
"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."
May God strengthen every Pastor, Minister, and Church Worker to remain faithful, resilient, and fruitful in their calling.
Boniface Amani Gichina (CPM)
