Jesus Dinning With Simon The LEPER.

Beloved, let us reflect on the lessons we can learn from the account found in Matthew 26:6, which says:

"Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper."

This simple verse speaks volumes about the compassionate nature of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. 

At a time when leprosy was widely feared and those afflicted were often shunned by society, Jesus did not hesitate to associate with Simon, a man living with this dreadful disease.

This act of Jesus reminds us of the powerful words found in Mark 2:17, where He declared, 

"They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." 

Jesus mission was to seek out and minister to those in need, regardless of their social status or physical condition.

In Luke 19:10, Jesus affirms, 

"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." 

This Scripture underscores the truth that the compassion of Christ extends to the outcast, the marginalized, and the "untouchable" of society.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus extends a gracious invitation to us all, saying, 

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." 

This invitation for rest and restoration is a testament to the unlimited compassion of Christ to all who need rest no matter their social status. 

Brethren, let us take inspiration from the example of Jesus, who readily associated with Simon the leper, and let us strive to emulate His love and acceptance towards all people, regardless of their circumstances. 

May our hearts be open to those who are often overlooked and marginalized.

May we be the feet and arms of Christ reaching out to the weak, the poor, the sick, the marginalized in our communities today.
