ENGAGING THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT FOR PROFITABLE LIVING - I Cor.12:7

But covet earnestly the best gifts - I Cor. 12:31

Introduction:

· Spiritual gifts are spiritual treasures in our earthen vessels -
2Cor 4:7 - But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

· These treasures are given to us by Holy Ghost for our profiting.
1Cor 12:7 - But the manifestation (Display, Expression, Demonstration) of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

Proverbs 18:16 - A man's gift maketh room for him.

Example - Nine gifts of the Holy Spirit, among others – 1Cor. 12:7-10.

Categorized into three:

· Power Gifts -
(1) Faith, (2)Gifts of Healing and (3) Working of Miracles

· Revelation Gifts -
(1)Word of Wisdom, (2) Word of Knowledge and (3)Discerning of Spirits

· Vocal / Inspirational Gift -
(1)Prophecy, (2)Diversity of Tongues and (3) Interpretation of Tongues

Ø The Holy Ghost manifests Himself in the believer through these gifts resulting in breakthrough of all kinds.

Ø Every Christian is to Covet deeply and sincerely any of these gifts.
And The Bible recommends we Covet the Best.
1Cor 12:31 - But covet earnestly the best gifts:

God is more than ready and willing to give us the best
Luke 11:13 - If ye then, being evil, ….know how to give GOOD GIFTS unto your children: how much more shall YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER give the HOLY SPIRIT to them that ask him?

Welcome Message

Welcome to your year of unprecedented transformation. You are God’s target for an unstoppable agenda of glory this year. There are Waves of Glory sweeping across the earth to terminate every shame, reproach and oppression of the wicked. I see your place and portion in this move of the Spirit becoming evident in all aspects of your life.

It will interest you to know that God created you for glory. The Psalmist makes it clear that you were created “a little lower than the Angels, and crowned with glory and honor.” Psalm 8:5. Therefore, your head shall wear the crown of glory this year. Honor shall be your garment and the banner over you in all your ways.

You are to vehemently resist every issue of shame around you right now in order for you to gain access into this season of glorification. Engage the requisite violence of faith to possess your inheritance. When you insist on your right, Satan cannot resist.
I see you going from glory to glory as the Waves of Glory decorate your life with its treasures, again and again in the course of this amazing year. Surely, 2015 is your own year!
