Who is the Holy Ghost?

·        The Holy Spirit is the 3^rd person in the God Head (1 Jh.5:7; Gen.1:1,2)

·        He is God’s power house  (Act.1:8; Zech.4:6)

·        He is our eternal helper (John 14:16-18,Heb.3:14)

·        He is the refiner’s fire (Malachi 3:1-3, Ekz. 36:27)

·        He is the spirit of holiness (Rms. 1:4, Is.11:1-12)

·        He is our sanctifier ( I Thess. 4:3)

·        He is our energizer in prayer (Rms. 8:26)

·        He is our access to the deep things of God (I Cor. 2:10-14)

How to receive the Holy Ghost

Why you need to receive Him

·       He is your God ordained guide – Jh.16:13

·       He is your God ordained teacher – Jh.14:26

·       He is your source of spiritual empowerment – Act.1:8; Mic.3:8

How to receive Him

·       Repent (Be Born Again) – Act.2:38; Prov.1:23

·       Thirst for Him – Is.41:17-22; Jh.7:37-39

·       Open up your heart to the word – Acts 10: 44-46, John 6:63

·       Ask in faith – Lk.11:13

·       Through laying on of hands –Acts 8:17, Acts 19:1-6

How to engage the Holy Ghost in battle

Battles are normal to life but victory is normal to the believer (I John 5:4). God arms us with the Holy Ghost for victory in the battles of life (Eph.6:12, Is.5:19).

We engage the Holy Ghost in battle by:

·        Praying in the Holy Ghost – Jude 20, I Cor. 14:2-4, Rms. 8:26

·        Connecting with the sent word as one reasons in the Holy Ghost– Ps.107:20, I Cor.2:13

·        Being strengthened with might in the inner man – Eph. 3:16

·        Inner strength is a requirement for victory in battle – Pr. 24:10

·        No one can posses his possession without strength in the inner man – Joshua 1:6-9

In conclusion, we engage the Holy Ghost in battle by praying intensely in the Holy Ghost and by reasoning in the Holy Ghost in search of the sent word.

Part 4: How to keep the fire of the Holy Ghost burning

The Holy Ghost fire can be kept burning by fanning it with the following:

·       Prayer –Lk.11:13, Act.4:23-33

·       Fasting – Is.58:5-12; Matt.17:21

·       The Word – Lev. 6:12-13, (Micah 6:9/7:14)

·       Praise –Eph.5:18-20; Act.16:25-40, Ps.92:1-15

·       Fear of the Lord – Ps. 45:6-7; Eccl.9:10

·       Witnessing – Acts 1:8, Hebs. 5:13-14
