LEADERSHIP and CRITICISM.
My beloved Kenyan. Criticism is an inevitable part of leadership.
No leader can operate in a bubble, shielded from feedback, both positive and negative.
No community or society that can afford to give their leaders the luxury of an environment free from, Criticism, Offences, False Accusations, Insults etc".
Every enviable occupation has "Occupational Hazards".
Unfair Criticism, False Accusations, Name Calling, Unwarranted Insults, are part of Leadership Occupational Hazards.
A good leader must develop his emotional capacity also known as Emotional Intelligence, to handle these hazards.
A good leader should learn to filter some of these criticisms and use them as tools for personal improvement and personal growth.
The Bible, in Ecclesiastes 7:5 KJV, offers this wisdom:
"It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise than to listen to the song of fools."
A true leader must embrace feedback as an opportunity to learn and become a better servant of the people.
No Community, Society or even a Nation that can guarantee any of her leaders, that their tenure will be free from criticism, name calling and such other Leadership Occupational Hazards.
Any leader who truly desire to advance his people must develop a "Thick Skin" against these hazards.
