The Basics of Christianity: Love One Another.

The Basics of Christianity: Love One Another:

My dear brethren, today we reflect on the very foundation of our Christian Faith - the Commandment to Love One Another.

In John 13:34-35, Jesus Himself gave us this new and profound directive, saying,

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

These words from our Lord and Savior are a clarion call to the essence of what it means to be a follower of Christ.

Jesus did not simply suggest that we love one another - He Commanded it, making it a Non-Negotiable Tenet of our Faith.

Why is this commandment so crucial? Because love is the very DNA of Christianity.

Love is the lifeblood that flows through the veins of our belief system. God Himself is love, and He has called us to reflect that divine love in our relationships with one another.

Jesus modeled this love for us in the most unique way possible - by laying down His life for us on the cross.

Though we were unworthy, He loved us unconditionally and sacrificially.

Now He asks us to love each other in the same way.

To love as Christ loved requires humility, patience, kindness, and a willingness to put the needs of others before our own.

It means forgiving those who wrong us, serving the least among us, and standing with the marginalized and oppressed.

But make no mistake - this commandment is not optional.

Jesus said that it is by our love for one another that the world will know we are His disciples.

Our love for one another is the litmus test of our faith.

Let us heed the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Let us strive to love one another as He has loved us.

Let us be known, Not for our "Deep and Perfect Theology" or our "Impressive Religious Practices", .....but for the "Depth of Our Love and Compassion" for One Another.

In doing so, we will not only fulfill the greatest commandment, but we will also be a shining beacon of hope in a world that is speedily becoming a "Haters World". A world dry of love and compassion.

Love is the "Real Cure" for all the challenges of humanity.
