Delayed Salaries and Suppliers Payments

DELAYED SALARIES AND PAYMENTS:
A GRAVE INJUSTICE TO WORKERS AND SUPPLIERS.

Beloved brethren, I recently heard a Palestinian man saying, and I quote:

"What scares me most, is not the sound of Israel Bombs, but the silence of those who should speak against these Bombs"

That statement made me reflect on what is happening in Kenya in many fronts, but in this article, I will focused on two:

1. Delay of Salaries to Government and County Governments workers.

2. Delay of Payment to Government and County Governments Contractors and Suppliers.

As a pastor, I have met people "Going Through Hell" because of either delayed salaries or delayed payments of supplies made.

A nation with unhappy Workers or frustrated Contractors and Suppliers cannot develop.

The Bible is clear on this:
paying Workers, Contractors and Suppliers on time is not just a good business practice, it is also a moral and spiritual obligation.

Delaying wages is a serious offense in the eyes of God.

1. It is Robbery:
Leviticus 19:13 KJV,

"Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him:
the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning"

God sees delay of payment as robbing from the worker or suppliers what they have rightfully earned.

2. It is a Sin Against the Needy:
Deuteronomy 24:14-15 KJV,

"Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:
At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it:
lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee."

Delaying salaries and payment can cause significant hardship and distress, potentially leading them to cry out to God for justice.

3. It Provokes God's Anger:
James 5:4 KJV,

"Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth:
and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth."

This verse emphasizes that the cries of those whose wages are withheld reach the very ears of God.

God is a God of justice, and He will not ignore the cries of the oppressed.

This verse is a strong warning against any temptation to withhold salaries or payment to suppliers.

Delaying salaries and payment to Contractors and Suppliers is a form of oppression, a sin against the needy, and an act that provokes God's anger.

Let us honour God and our fellow human beings by paying what is due, when it is due.
