Family Relationships

Charity begins at home.
The way we treat and care for our immediate family members can have a profound impact on our ability to maintain good relationships with our friends, neighbours, co-workers, and even business partners.

The Bible reminds us in Ephesians 4:32:

"be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."

This principle applies not just to our spiritual lives, but to our personal ones as well.

When we cultivate patience, understanding, and grace with our siblings, parents, and other family members, we develop essential skills that allow us to  better our relationships with others outside our family circle.

Family conflicts are inevitable, but Proverbs 15:1 instructs us that:

"A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

By responding to tension with empathy and wisdom, we can navigate family challenges in a way that strengthens our relationships at home and any where else.

At the end of the day, happy, healthy families make for happy, healthy communities.

As you go about your day, consider how you can put Colossians 3:12-14 into practice:

"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other."

Your loved ones, your friends,  your neighbours, your colleagues and your business partners - will all be grateful you did.
