THE ETIQUETTE OF SHARING THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF CHRIST.
Beloved brethren, the Gospel of Christ is a treasure meant to be shared.
It carries love, hope and salvation.
Yet, how we share this precious gift matters a lot.
It is not merely about the message, but also the manner in which it is delivered.
Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 14:40 KJV:
"Let all things be done decently and in order"
We are called to be ambassadors of Christ, reflecting His love and grace in every interaction.
In my 20 years of pastoral work, I have learnt by experience some key etiquette of sharing the radiant light of the Gospel of Christ.
Five of these keys are:
1. Humility and Reverence:
Our approach should be one of humility, recognizing that we are mere vessels carrying a divine message.
We are not the source of the truth, but rather its messengers.
2. Love and Compassion:
The Gospel of Christ is a message of love, and our preaching should reflect that.
We must approach others with compassion.
Judgment and condemnation have no place in the sharing of the Glorious Gospel of Christ.
3. Clarity and Truthfulness:
The Gospel must be presented clearly and truthfully, without distortion or manipulation.
We must be faithful to the Word of God, ensuring that our message accurately reflects His teachings.
Avoid using jargon or language that may confuse or irritate the listeners.
Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 4:2 KJV, says:
"But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty,
not walking in craftiness,
nor handling the word of God deceitfully;
but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God."
4. Respect and Sensitivity:
We must respect the dignity and autonomy of those we share the Gospel with.
Be sensitive to their cultural background, beliefs, and experiences.
Avoid being intrusive or pushy, and always seek their permission before sharing.
5. Be A Living Testimony:
Our lives should be a living testimony of the Gospel we preach.
Our actions should align with our words, reflecting the love, joy, and peace that Christ offers.
Matthew 5:16 KJV, says:
"Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
Sharing the Gospel of Christ is a privilege and a responsibility.
Let us approach it with humility, love, and wisdom, allowing the light of Christ to shine brightly through our actions.
