ITIONAGUO NI ITHAYO:
"Wealth is Not Gotten By Lazy People"
Beloved brethren, none of us chose to be born where we were born.
The world is becoming a village, but that does not mean we ignore the wealth, the wisdom and the warmth that comes from our roots.
"Itionaguo ni ithayo" is a powerful Kikuyu proverb that highlights a universal truth:
This proverbs means wealth and success are not born of idleness.
It simply means lazy people should not expect to be wealthy or successful.
This wisdom reminds us that hard work, diligence, and perseverance are the cornerstones of prosperity.
In today's world, where instant gratification, and shortcuts, are often glorified, this proverb serves as a timely reminder of the enduring value of hard work.
Proverbs 10:4 (KJV) teaches the same thing.
"He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand:
but the hand of the diligent maketh rich."
Let this ancient wisdom inspire us:
•To cultivate a strong Work Ethic,
•To embrace Challenges as Opportunities for Growth, and
•To never shy away from doing our best to achieve our desired goals.
True wealth is not just about material possessions.
True wealth comes with personal growth, personal honour and generational impact.
Remember, ITIONAGUO NI ITHAYO.
I better walk alone than walk with ITHAYO.
