A Speech With Grace.
My dear brethren, today I want us to talk about our speech.
Our voice, our words, our conversations and our communications.
As a wise prayer goes,
"May my voice be rich with the harmony of God’s presence."
Our voice represents so much more than the words that come through our mouths.
Apostle Paul reminds us in Colossians 4:6 KJV.
"Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man."
In this scripture, Paul is challenging us to be mindful of both what we say, and how we say it.
Our voice is represented by many things:
- The words we speak,
- The emails we write,
- The text messages we send,
- Thoughts we entertain,
- Social media posts we post etc.
Our voice should seek to uplift, encourage, and build up people around us.
Our voice should never seek to tear down anyone.
We must always remember that our words have power - power to heal or to harm, power to bring joy or to cause pain, power to make merry or make mad.
Let us therefore be mindful of the tone we use, the attitude we project, and the way we speak to others.
Let us strive to speak with kindness, with compassion, and with the utmost courtesy.
Too many people are in distress today. A kind voice, a loving word, a caring speech will be a sweet relief for them.
A kind voice, is the cure, the world is searching for.
Be that voice, my dear.
