Possessing Our Land in Peace

Introduction:

·       The Land is called “Mother Earth”.

·       It is the source of all Living and Non-Living

·       The earth is associated with Fertility  and Life

 

·       Man came from the dust of the earth and will return there.

Genesis 2:7 KJV

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

 

Genesis 3:19 KJV

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

 

·       Man First Stop was in a garden

Genesis 2:8 KJV

And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

 

Other Biblical Accounts On Importance of Land.

1.   God called Abraham to give him land.

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

[14.]And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

[15] For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

 

2.   Isaac Prospered By Planting in That Land.

Genesis 26:12 KJV

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.

 

3.   Jacob was promised that same land

Genesis 28:13 KJV

And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not.

 

4.   Moses was sent to take the children of Israel to their promised Land

Exodus 3:8 KJV

And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; ..

 

5.   Joshua was promised every land he stepped on.

Joshua 1:3 KJV

Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

 

God has an Appointed Land for each one of us.

2 Samuel 7:10 KJV

Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

 

God will give us that land by favour

Psalm 44:3 KJV

For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
