Preparing for Our Own Land - Giving To God The Right Way

TEXT: Luke 6:38 - Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

BIBLICAL CHARACTERS:  ABEL – He give God an excellent sacrifice because he had faith in Him – Hebrews 11:4 - By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

MEMORY VERSE:
 2 Corinthians 9:7 - …. For God loveth a cheerful giver.

Objective: Help the children understand how to give to God.

How to Give to God

1.       Give in Faith –
Hebrews 11:4 -By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

2.       Give willingly
Exodus 35:22 - And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the LORD.

3.       Give in Love-
I Corinthians 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4.       Give cheerfully and Tirelessly –
2Corithians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Ecclesiastes11:1-2
1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. 
2 Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.

BIBLICAL TRUTH: God gives in love and gives His best – John 3:16

CHALLENGE FACTOR: How give your offerings to God? Is it by faith and in love?

POSITIVE CONFESSION: - I will be giving God my best because He gave me life.
