Distinguished By Kingdom Service (Serving God)

By Pastor Boniface Amani Gichina

Jesus says, Follow me and I will make you.
Matthew 4:19 - And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
…. I will make you great
…. I will make you outstanding
…. I will make you rich etc

Whom you follow determines what you are made to become.
Peter followed Jesus and he became great. You will never be left behind if you follow God.

Whom you follow determines what FLOWS to you. What flows to you determines what flows through you. What flows through you determines what flows out of you. And what flows out of you determines what you become.

We follow Jesus because we want to serve Him.
John 12:26 - If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Whom you serve determines your pay.
If you serve a poor man, you get a poor pay. If you serve a generous rich man you are remunerated generously.

If you serve the almighty God, you are rewarded mightily
Exodus 23:25 - And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

God Will Distinguishes Those That Serve Him.
Malachi 3:14 – 18
14 Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

15 And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.

16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

God will overturn things until you are distinguished
Ezekiel 21:27 - I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him
How Does God expect us to serve Him?
  1. Serve God from the heart
Matthew 22:37 - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Deuteronomy 30:6 - And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
EXAMPLE - 1Samuel 16:7 - ….I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
  2. Serve God Willingly And Joyfully
Serving God with unwilling heart and without joy is not acceptable.
You may end up attracting curses than blessings.
    Deuteronomy 28:47 - 48
    47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
  3. Serve God Faithfully
Unfaithful servants are more risky that thieves and robbers.
Unfaithful servants destroy the work from within.
They are a cancer within. God wants us to serve Him faithfully.

I Corinthians 4:2 - Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful
    Luke 16:12
    - And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?
    Luke 19:17 -
And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
    Matthew 25:21, 23
    - His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord
  4. Don’t Serve God With Eye Service.
-Eye-service is service offered to attract attention from people or leaders.
-It is service offered to impress people.
    Colossians 3:22 -
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God

    Ephesians 6:6
    - Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart
