Church Dedication - The Mystery Of The House Of God

Why are we here today?

1. To thank God and celebrate Him for what he has done.
   Psalms 94:1 - t is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
   Psalms 118:23 -   This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
2. To Dedicate this house back to him.
   We may have many plans for this house, but God has the best.
   Proverbs 16:3 - Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.
3. Because Dedicating The House of God is Biblical
   1Kings 8:63 - And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, .....So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.
   Dedication is done with Joy
   Ezra 6:16 - And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy,
   
   

The Mysteries of the house of God

1. It is a place to encounter power and strength.
   Psalms 63:1 -2
   1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee,...(why)
   2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
   
   Psalms 84:7 -  They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
2. It is a place of prayer
   Isaiah 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
   
   Matthew 21:13 - And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
3. It is a place to encounter knowledge and wisdom
   Micah 4:1 – 2
   1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
   2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4. It is a place to possess our possessions
   Obadiah 1:17 - But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
   
   

Finally

1. No enemy will prevail over this church.
   Matthew 16:18 - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
2. There will be multiplication of attendance
   Jeremiah 30:19 - And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
3. There will be signs and wonders
   Isaiah 8:18 - Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
