Introduction
- Every Child Is A Gift From God
Psalms 127:3 - Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

- Every Gift From Above Is A Good And Perfect Gift
James 1:17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Why We Conduct Covenant Naming Ceremony

1.      A Good Name Is Important
Proverbs 22:1 - A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
Ecclesiastes 7 :1 - A good name is better than precious ointment;

2.      Your Name Defines You
Nabal example – I Samuel 25:25 - Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him:

3.      You Name Defines Your Mission –
Every Child Comes For A Mission
Jeremiah 1:5 - Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Jesus example - Matthew 1:21 - And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

4.      Covenant Naming Initiate The Child Into A Covenant Of Blessings
Example of Abraham - Genesis 17:5 – 6
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

Example of Jacob – Genesis 32:26 – 28
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

Prophetic Blessings
