TOPIC – Becoming A Great Woman

Who is a great? = A woman of Virtue
Proverbs 30:10 - Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies

A great woman has the following to show:

1. She Fears God
   Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom
   Proverbs 4:7 - Wisdom is the principal thing
2. She Works Hard With Her Own Hands -
   Prov. 31:13 - She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hand
3. She Is Generous And Take Care Of The Needy
   Prov. 31:20 - She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy
4. She Talks With Wisdom And Kindness
   Prov. 31:26 - She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
5. She Likes To Create Her Own Wealth
   Prov. 31: 27 -She gives attention to the ways of her family, she does not take her food without working for it. (BBE) 
6. She Is Hospitable
   2 Kings 4:8 -  And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

Any woman can be a great woman. Any woman can be a woman of Virtue
I Timothy 2:20 – 21
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man (WOMAN) therefore purge himself (HERSELF) from these, he (SHE) shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Examples of a great woman

1. Shunamite woman
   2 Kings 4:8  - And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.
   
2. Lois and Eunice
   2Timothy 1:5 - When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
   
   

Benefits of A great woman

1. Blessings
   Proverbs 31:28 - Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
   
2. Honour
   Proverbs 31:31 -  Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
   Another translation says:
   Proverbs 31:31 - Give her credit for what her hands have made: let her be praised by her works in the public place. (BBE)

Enemies of a great woman:

1. Pride
   James 4:6 - But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
   Matthew 23:12 - And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
   
2. Ingratitude
   Psalms 28:5 - Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
