Prove All Things

Test All Things.

Beloved brethren, today I want us to reflect on the wise counsel found in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 KJV,

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

In a world overflowing with all manner of information, opinions, and teachings, we are reminded of the necessity to discern carefully that which we accept into our hearts and minds.

First, test all things: second, firmly hold on to what is good.

Apostle Paul urges us to "prove," or test, all things.

In these times, where various teachings and doctrines abound, it is very important that we engage critically and thoughtfully with whatever we hear.

Not every message that claims to be from God truly aligns with His Word or character.

Our task is to measure every teaching against the timeless truth of Scripture and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We are encouraged to engage with the Word regularly, meditate on it, and allow it to shape our understanding.

Once we have tested all things, we are instructed to "hold fast that which is good."

It is not enough to merely identify the good; we must actively cling to it.

Let us not be swayed by every new trend or teaching that comes our way but remain steadfast in what is true and righteous.

Holding fast is a call to nurture and protect the virtues, the values, and the truths we find in Christ.

As we navigate this journey of discernment, let us not rely on our own understanding, but on the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is our helper, guiding us into all truth. Through prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit, we gain insight and clarity.

Don't engage in unprofitable debates about doctrines. Rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance.

In conclusion, let us be vigilant and discerning Christians.

Continuously seeking the truth, testing all things, and holding tightly to that which is good.

As we do so, we strengthen our faith, becoming strong believers who cannot easily fall victims of ungodly doctrines.

Test everything that is said, hold fast to what is good.
