The Purpose Of Victory - Exodus 8:1

Pst E, A., Adeboye THE PURPOSE OF VICTORY
Text:  Exodus 8:1 - And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

One of the philosophers of the ancient days says the greatest
problem of victory is what to do with it.

After you have become victorious, what next?  After freedom, after
release, after jubilee, after restoration what next?

Many people plan for wedding; they even plan for honey moon
without planning for marital life. When the honey moon is over what next?
No plan, husband and wife returns from honey moon and darling say
"where is my breakfast?" and the wife says breakfast?

So many girls plan for their wedding, not knowing that after the
honeymoon the wife Is supposed to wake up one hour before the
husband to prepare breakfast.

Many people celebrate graduation, then what next? what if I don't get a job, what do I do then? Many people
plan for house dedication but they don't plan for maintenance. I remembered when I bought my first car;
my friend says congratulation but from now on you have to put your eye on the oil gauge.

Brethren after jubilee what next? After healing what next? Because God is going to heal you during this convention,
after breakthrough what next?

There are categories of bondage, battles that people fight; there is physical bondage Luke 13 and in 2 king 5 v 1.

Naaman was famous and rich but Naaman was a leper.

Then there is material bondage according to 2king 4 v 1 -7

Then we can have physical and material bondage according to Mark 5 v 25-34.

Then there is spiritual bondage, an example is Mary Magdalene according to Luke 8 v 1 -3. Then we have a
case where all three types of bondage are together according to Mark 5 v 1 -15. It tells us about the mad
man of Gedaren who was possessed by 6000 demons.

But the good news tonight, is that victory is possible, I want to go a step further to announce that victory is on
your way because the God of Jubilee who is the God of Redeemed Christian Church of God is here tonight.

And according to Psalm 24 v 7-10 He can set you free from any form of bondage.

Victory has issues, and I will just mention may be just two. The first issue with victory is that the devil loves to
attack immediately after a victory, in 1 Samuel 17 v 34 - 37 David said I was watching my father's flock, a lion
came and grabbed one of the flock, I grabbed it and smote it.

You thought the devil will let him be, immediately  the bear came and he also smote it then the devil says if
you can handle animal, we will give you Goliath and by God's grace he killed him.

Then the devil arranged some women and they composed an impromptu song that made him have a greater enemy than he has ever have; his father in law.

The most dangerous time is immediately after a victory, I know this and that is why I am always careful of
celebrations. I can give you several examples; take Gideon after one victory comes another attack that is one issue.

But the issue they asked me to speak on tonight is what do I do with victory, when am healed what do I do next,
John5 v 2 -14 . If don't want to say good by to sin ask God to leave you alone, be as you are because if you do
and you are still in sin, a greater sickness will come.

The first thing to do after a victory is to thank God Exodus 15 v 1 -11, Luke 8 v 1-3, ask the mad man of
Garasene Mark 5 v 18 -20 after his healing he came to Jesus and say I will go with you everywhere you Go,
and Jesus said I have an assignment for you, "go and tell others "and he won an entire city for God.

If you are deliver and you don't tell other about it the bible says the demon that has gone out will come back with
more dangerous demons. Your deliverance will be permanent.

Don't be like Samson who was brought bound to his external enemy but the Almighty God rose and fought his
battle for him, but what did he do ? John 16 v 1-3 he just got up and went to a harlot's house.

What do I do with victory? It is a good thing to prosper but Proverbs 1 v 32 says the prosperity of fools will
destroy them. When you look at Exodus 12 v 35-36 the Bible tells us that when the children of Israel were
leaving Egypt on that great night of deliverance, they went to the Egyptians and collected the salary that their
father had not received in one hundred years they collected it in one night. What did they do with it?

Exodus 32 v 1 -6 they went to Aaron and said they want a God they can see, and Aaron asked them to bring
all their gold and it was used to mould a golden image for them.

I have told you stories of those who were strong Christian until the Lord prospered them. I know those of us
who use to fast and pray, because it was easy to fast then because there isn't much anyway. Then prosperity
came... the prosperity that will take you away from the almighty God, will never give it to you.

Zachariah tells us what to use the prosperity for, we are to build churches with prosperity, the word of God says
you can have prosperity and enjoy it for the rest of your life according to Job 36 v 11.

What are you to do with victory? 1Sam 2 V 1 -2 After David defeated Goliath and king Saul attacked him,
he ran to the cave of Adullam and Vagabonds gather themselves to him and he turned them to mighty men
so that by the time we get 2Sam 23 V 8, God wants you to tell people about God, God wants to prosper you so
that you can open your house up for house fellowship.

The Almighty God wants to prosper you so you can  sponsor television program.

Now that you know what to do with victory, you can now demand from Pharaoh. i.e whatever represent
Pharaoh in your life, demons, barrens, failure, whatever did not allow you to go higher, you can now say to
Pharaoh , hear the word of the Lord, let me go!

One of the things I like about the almighty God is that when he arises to fight for you, he can do a very good
job Exodus 4 v 22 v 23

God will give you victory tonight, provided you will use it for winning souls, for praising God, for making disciple,
for giving your house for house fellowships
