Servants Upon Horses

Ecclesiastes 10:5 – 7
5There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler:

6 Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.
7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.

It is not right for a servant to be riding horses while a prince is walking.

Proverbs 19:10 - Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.( It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury, much less for a slave to rule over princes. (RSV)

Proverbs 30:21 – 22
21 For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear: (KJV)

22 For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat; (KJV)

21 Under three things the earth TREMBLES; under four it cannot bear up: (RSV)

22 a SLAVE when he BECOMES KING, and a FOOL when he is FILLED with FOOD; (RSV)

Why Will Servants Ride Upon Horses While Princess Walk?

1.     When A Prince Does Not Know Who He Is?
Hosea 4:6 - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:

John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

2.     When A Prince Does Not Know That Riding Horses Is His Birthright
What you DON’T KNOW MAY BE KILLING YOU!!

There are many promises in the Bible but we can only claim those we know.

3.     When A Prince Who Used To Ride Upon Horses Is Forces By Circumstances To Walk

- Just like an Old Monkey Trekking (Monkeys are expected to be jumping on trees)

16 And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.

Latter Samson was forced to grind corn in prison
Judges 16:20 –  But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

4.     Horses Can Reject To Be Rode By A prince
Example of Balaam
Numbers 22:21 – 34 (The Ass refused to carry him and actually crushed his foot - verse 25)

Examples of scenarios when horses reject to be rode by us.
- When we get sacked from your job because of misconduct
- When our wives / Husbands divorce because of our weaknesses
- When we lose customers due to our bad character etc.

What is trekking?

Making progress but SLOW progress
Making Progress with SWEAT
Genesis 3:19 - In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground

What Is Riding?

It is making progress, galloping progress, supernatural progress etc

It is winning without sweat.

It is unusual progress
It is making exciting progress
e.g. – ONE SERMON winning 3000 Souls – (i.e. Church increased from 120 to 3120 membership as is recorded in the book of Acts)

Acts 2:41 - Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

What Is The Horse?

- The Holy Spirit is our horse. We are expected to ride on the Power and Wisdom of the Holy Spirit

You will make exciting, galloping, supernatural progress when you allow yourself to ride on the wings of the Holy Spirit. You will simply fly.
Revelation 12:14 - And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

How Do you Get Back On The Horse

1. Find Out What You Did Wrong That Brought You Down From The Horse
   1Corithians 11:28 - But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
   2Corithians 13:5 - Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
   
   
2. Acknowledge Your Faults In All Humility
   Psalms 51:3 - For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
   Jeremiah 14:20 - We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.
   
   
3. Retrace Your Steps To Where You Left The Horse
   Luke 15:18 - I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
   
   
4. Call For Help From God
   Judges 16:28 -  And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.
    
   
5. Stick On The Horse.
   There are so many servants who want to ride when you are down trekking
   
   Keep all servants where they belong:
   (a). Your Body
   I Corinthians 9:27 - But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection
   (b). Sin – Never be a servant of Sin
   Romans 6:6 - Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
   
   Romans 6:12 - Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
